  • Description
      This medicine improves the symptoms such as strong anxiety or tension and decreased motivation by blocking the receptors for neurotransmitters in the brain (dopamine).
      It is usually used to treat schizophrenia.
  • Effect/Efficacy

  • Usage/Dosage
      In general, for adults, take 0.3 to 1.8 g (3 to 18 mg of the active ingredient) a day. The dosage may be adjusted according to the age or symptoms. However, the dosage may be increased up to 3.6 g (36 mg) a day. Strictly follow the instructions.
      If you miss a dose, take the missed dose as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose. You should never take two doses at one time.
      If you accidentally take more than your prescribed dose, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
      Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor instructs you to do so.
  • Cautions
      Before using this medicine, be sure to tell your doctor and pharmacist
      If you have previously experienced any allergic reactions (itch, rash, etc.) to any medicines.
      If you have heart failure or Parkinson's disease.
      If you are pregnant, breastfeeding or possibly pregnant.
      If you are taking any other medicinal products. (Some medicines may interact to enhance or diminish medicinal effects. Beware of over-the-counter medicines and dietary supplements as well as other prescription medicines.)
  • Contraindication
      The most commonly reported adverse reactions include liver disorder, Parkinson's syndrome [tremor (shivering of limbs), muscle rigidity (muscle stiffness), salivation (drooling), hypokinesia (excessively decreased movement), gait disturbance, mask-like facial expression, swallowing disorder, articulation disorder (slurred speech)], akathisia (unable to keep still) and rash. If any of these symptoms occur, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
      The symptoms described below are rarely seen as initial symptoms of the adverse reactions indicated in brackets. If any of these symptoms occur, stop taking this medicine and see your doctor immediately.
      remaining motionless, muscle stiffness, swallowing difficulty [malignant syndrome]
      constant, involuntary movement of the face, particularly around the mouth [tardive dyskinesia]
      convulsion, decreased consciousness, headache [syndrome of inappropriate secretion of antidiuretic hormone]
      loss of appetite, nausea/vomiting, significant constipation [paralytic ileus]
      sore throat, headache, fever [agranulocytosis, decreased white blood cell]
      The above symptoms do not describe all the adverse reactions to this medicine. Consult with your doctor or pharmacist if you notice any symptoms of concern other than those listed above.
