Description

This medicine is a penicillin antibiotic to inhibit bacterial cell wall synthesis, and shows bactericidal antimicrobial effect.
It is usually used in the treatment of wide-range infections such as skin, respiratory, urinary tracts, gynecologic, sexually transmitted, ophthalmic, otorhinological, dental and infectious enteritis.

Effect/Efficacy

This medicine is a penicillin antibiotic to inhibit bacterial cell wall synthesis, and shows bactericidal antimicrobial effect.
It is usually used in the treatment of wide-range infections such as skin, respiratory, urinary tracts, gynecologic, sexually transmitted, ophthalmic, otorhinological, dental and infectious enteritis.

Usage/Dosage

In general, for adults, take 2.5 to 5 g (250-500 mg of the active ingredient [titer]) at a time, four to six times daily. For children, take 0.25 to 0.5 g (25-50 mg of the active ingredient [titer]) per kilogram of body weight daily, in four divided doses. The dosage may be adjusted according to the age or symptoms. Strictly follow the instructions.
Dissolve the medicine in water just before you take it.
If the medicine prescribed as dissolved syrup, shake the bottle well before taking.
If you miss a dose, take a dose as soon as possible. However, if it is 3 hours or less before the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue your regular dosing schedule. You should never take two doses at one time.
If you took too much of the medicine (more than ordered), check with your doctor/pharmacist.
Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor instructs you to do so.

Cautions

Before using this medicine, be sure to tell your doctor and pharmacist
If you have previously experienced any allergic reactions (itch, rash, etc.) to any medicines.
If you are a patient with infectious mononucleosis or renal disorder.
If you are or any of your parents or siblings is prone to allergic symptoms such as bronchial asthma, rash or hives.
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
If you are taking any other medicinal products. (Some medicines may interact to enhance or diminish medicinal effects. Beware of over-the-counter medicines and dietary supplements as well as other prescription medicines.)
Keep out of the reach of children. Store away from direct sunlight, heat and moisture.
Discard the remainder. Do not store them.

Contraindication

The most commonly reported adverse reactions include fever, rash and hives. If any of these symptoms occur, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
The symptoms described below are rarely seen as initial symptoms of the adverse reactions indicated in brackets. If any of these symptoms occur, stop taking this medicine and see your doctor immediately.
feeling unwell, abnormal feeling in mouth, dizziness  [shock]
fever, erythema with edema in the center, bloodshot eyes  [oculomucocutaneous syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis]
throat pain, muscle pain, anemia  [agranulocytosis, hemolytic anemia]
decreased urine output, edema, headache  [Serious renal disorder such as acute renal failure]
fever, frequent diarrhea, abdominal pain  [Serious colitis with bloody stool such as pseudomembranous colitis]
