  • Description
      This oral antibiotic called newquinolone inhibits bacterial DNA replication with antibacterial action.
      It is usually used to treat wide range of infections such as skin/respiratory/urinary tracts infections, and gynecologic/ophthalmic/otologic/dental infections.
  • Feature

  • Effect/Efficacy
      This oral antibiotic called newquinolone inhibits bacterial DNA replication with antibacterial action.
      It is usually used to treat wide range of infections such as skin/respiratory/urinary tracts infections, and gynecologic/ophthalmic/otologic/dental infections.
  • Usage/Dosage
      In general, for adults, take 3 to 6 tablets (300 to 600mg of the active ingredient) in 2 to 3 divided doses a day. However, the dose may be adjusted according to the type of infection and symptoms.
      Leprosy:Take 4 to 6 tablets (400 to 600mg of the active ingredient) in 2 to 3 divided doses a day. However, the dose may be adjusted according to the symptoms. This medicine is basically co-administered with other antileprotic agents.
      Typhoid, and paratyphoid: Take 2 tablets (200mg of the active ingredient) at a time, 4 times a day, for 14 days.
      Strictly follow the instructions in any case.
      If you miss a dose, take a dose as soon as possible. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue your regular dosing schedule. You should never take two doses at one time.
      If you accidentally take more than your prescribed dose, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
      Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor instructs you to do so.
  • Cautions
      Before using this medicine, be sure to tell your doctor and pharmacist
      If you have previously experienced any allergic reactions (itch, rash, etc.) to any medicines.
      If you have: kidney disorder, or convulsive disorders such as epilepsy.
      If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
      If you are taking any other medicinal products. (Some medicines may interact to enhance or diminish medicinal effects. Beware of over-the-counter medicines and dietary supplements as well as other prescription medicines.)
      Since this medicine may cause consciousness disorder etc., be aware when you operate dangerous machinery such as driving a car.
      Keep out of the reach of children. Store away from direct sunlight, heat and moisture.
      Discard the remainder. Do not store them.
  • Contraindication
      The most commonly reported adverse reactions include stomachache, diarrhea, nausea, loss of appetite, stomach discomfort, insomnia, dizziness, rash and itch. If any of these symptoms occur, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
      The symptoms described below are rarely seen as initial symptoms of the adverse reactions indicated in brackets. If any of these symptoms occur, stop taking this medicine and see your doctor immediately.
      erythema, chills, breathing difficulty [shock, anaphylaxis]
      fever, erythema, blister, skin erosion [ toxic epidermal necrosis, oculomucocutaneous syndrome ]
      fitful muscular contraction [spasm]
      chest pain, palpitation, chest discomfort, shortness of breath [QT prolongation, ventricular tachycardia (including Torsades pointes)]
      fever, general malaise, decreased urine output, swollen limbs [acute renal failure, interstitial nephritis]
      nausea/vomiting, loss of appetite, general fatigue, itch [fluminant hepatitis, liver dysfunction, jaundice]
      fever, sore throat, general malaise, bleeding tendency (e.g. gum/nose/subcutaneous bleeding) [hematopathy such as granulocytopenia, pancytopenia, and thrombocytopenia]
      general fatigue, palpitation, dizziness [hemolytic anemia]
      fever, dry cough, breathing difficulty [interstitial pneumonia, eosinophilic pneumonia]
      abdominal pain, frequent diarrhea [serious colitis with bloody stool such as pseudomembranous colitis]
      muscle pain, feeling of weakness, red-brown urine [rhabdomyolysis]
      cold sweat, palpitation, feeling of weakness [hypoglycemia]
      pain of tendon, swollen tendon [achillobursitis, disorder of the tendon such as tendon rupture]
      disoriented thinking, unable to recognize time/place, incoherent speech/action, feeling low and discouraged [mental manifestation such as confusion, delirium and depression]
      fever, abdominal pain, joint pain, purpura, papule [hypersensitivity vasculitis ]
      ptosis of upper eyelid, double vision, muscle fatigueness with activity [worsening of myasthenia gravis]
