  • Description
When calcium flows into cells in vessels, the vessels constricts and the blood pressure increases. This medicine blocks calcium inflow and consequently dilates constricted vessels to decrease blood pressure.
It also dilates vessels of the heart to prevent developing anginal attacks (chest pain which mostly occurs in the heart).
It is usually used in the treatment of hypertension, renal parenchymal hypertension and angina pectoris.
