      This medicine contains active vitamin D3. It prevents weakening of bones and improves bone diseases due to lack of vitamin D by promoting calcium absorption in the small intestine and kidney, promoting bone formation through direct effects on bone cells and suppressing secretion of parathyroid hormone in the blood.
      It is usually used to treat osteoporosis and to improve hypocalcemia, numbness, tetany, abnormal perception, muscle weakness, bone pain and bone lesion associated with abnormal vitamin D metabolism in patients with chronic renal failure, hypoparathyroidism and rickets/osteomalacia.

  • Effect/Efficacy
      This medicine contains active vitamin D3.   • Usage/Dosage
      For osteoporosis: In general, for adults, take 0.25 mcg of the active ingredient at a time, twice a day.
      For chronic renal failure: In general, for adults, take 0.25 to 0.75 mcg of the active ingredient at a time, once a day.
      For hypoparathyroidism and other diseases associated with abnormal vitamin D metabolism: In general, for adults, take 0.5 to 2.0 mcg of the active ingredient at a time, once a day.
      In any case, the dosage may be adjusted according to the disease, age or symptoms. This medicine contains 0.5 mcg of the active ingredient in a capsule. Strictly follow the instructions.
      If you miss a dose, take the missed dose as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose. You should never take two doses at one time.
      If you accidentally take more than your prescribed dose, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
      Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor instructs you to do so.
  • Cautions
      If you have previously experienced any allergic reactions (itch, rash, etc.) to any medicines or foods.
      If you have hypercalcaemia or vitamin D intoxication.
      If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
      If you are taking any other medicinal products. (Some medicines may interact to enhance or diminish medicinal effects. Beware of over-the-counter medicines and dietary supplements as well as other prescription medicines.)
      Consult with your doctor if you are taking over-the-counter medicines or dietary supplements containing a large amount of calcium or vitamin D. You may become more susceptible to adverse reactions.
      Keep out of the reach of children. Store away from light, heat and moisture.
      Discard the remainder. Do not store them. Ask the pharmacy or medical institution on how to discard them.
  • Contraindication
      The most commonly reported adverse reactions include nausea, diarrhea, loss of appetite, constipation, vomiting, gastric distress and itch. If any of these symptoms occur, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.

      The symptoms described below are rarely seen as initial symptoms of the adverse reactions indicated in brackets. If any of these symptoms occur, stop taking this medicine and see your doctor immediately.
