Usage/Dosage

In general, for adults, apply an appropriate amount of the medicine to the affected area, once a day. Strictly follow the instructions.
The daily dose is up to 10 g (when using concomitantly with ointments including maxacalcitol, the total dose is up to 10 g (250 mcg as maxacalcitol). Wash your hands thoroughly after applying the ointment.
Do not apply the ointment to normal skin. Pay attention not to get the medicine in the eye. Do not touch a wound with the hand that applied the ointment.
If you miss a dose, apply the missed dose when you remember. However, if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and follow your regular dosing schedule. You should never apply two doses at one time.
If you accidentally apply more than your prescribed dose or accidentally ingest this medicine, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
Do not stop applying this medicine unless your doctor instructs you to do so.

Cautions

If you have previously experienced any allergic reactions (itch, rash, etc.) to any medicines.
If you have skin infections due to bacteria or fungi, ulcer, burn/frostbite, hypercalcemia or a risk of hypercalcemia, or decreased renal function.
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
If you are taking any other medicinal products. (Some medicines may interact to enhance or diminish medicinal effects. Beware of over-the-counter medicines and dietary supplements as well as other prescription medicines.)
Laboratory tests, including blood calcium level measurements, and renal function tests will be performed regularly to check for adverse reactions that you may not notice yourself. Consult with your doctor as directed by your doctor.
Keep out of the reach of children. Store away from direct sunlight, heat and moisture.
Discard the remainder. Do not store them. Ask your pharmacy or medical institution on how to discard the remainder.

Contraindication

The most commonly reported adverse reactions include folliculitis, skin irritation, rash and abnormal liver function. If any of these symptoms occur, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
The symptoms described below are rarely seen as initial symptoms of the adverse reactions indicated in brackets. If any of these symptoms occur, stop taking this medicine and see your doctor immediately.
dry mouth, malaise, lassitude [hypercalcemia]
decreased urine output, edema, general malaise [acute renal failure]
