      It is usually used to improve various symptoms (hypocalcemia, tetany, bone pain, bone lesion) associated with abnormal vitamin D metabolism in patients with chronic renal failure, hypoparathyroidism and vitamin D-resistant rickets/osteomalacia, and to treat osteoporosis.

  • Usage/Dosage

      Your dosage of this medicine is adjusted under a fully controlled condition of serum calcium level.

      In general, for adults, take 0.5 to 1.0 μg of the active ingredient at a time, once a day. However, the dosage may be adjusted according to age or symptoms.
      In general, for children, take 0.01 to 0.03 μg/kg of the active ingredient for osteoporosis and 0.05 to 0.1 μg/kg for chronic renal failure at a time, once a day. However, the dosage may be adjusted according to disease or symptoms.
      This medicine contains 1.0 μg of the active ingredient in a tablet. Strictly follow the instructions.
      If you miss a dose, take the missed dose as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue your regular dosing schedule. You should never take two doses at one time.
      If you accidentally take more than your prescribed dose, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
      Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor instructs you to do so.

  • Cautions

      Precautions while taking this medicine
      Do not take any over-the-counter medicines or dietary supplements containing a large amount of calcium or vitamin D without consulting your doctor. Excessive intake of calcium and vitamin D would be of concern.
      Since this medicine may cause hypercalcemia, calcium levels in blood should be periodically tested while using this medicine.
      Since this medicine may cause acute kidney injury, renal function should be periodically tested while using this medicine.

      Storage conditions and other information
      Keep out of the reach of children. Store in a covered container, at room temperature (1 to 30 degrees Celsius), away from light and moisture.
      Store in PTP and remove from the sheet just before taking.
      Discard the remainder. Do not store them. If you do not know how to discard, consult your pharmacy or medical institution about how to discard them. Do not give this medicine to others.
  • Contraindication
      The most commonly reported adverse reactions include itch, nausea, loss of appetite, diarrhea, constipation, gastric pain, conjunctival hyperemia and rash. If any of these symptoms occur, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.

      The symptoms described below are rarely seen as initial symptoms of the adverse reactions indicated in brackets. If any of these symptoms occur, stop taking this medicine and see your doctor immediately.

      decreased urine output, edema, general malaise[acute renal failure]
      general malaise, loss of appetite, yellowness in skin or the white of eyes[liver dysfunction, jaundice]
