Usage/Dosage

For pulmonary tuberculosis and other tuberculosis: In general, for adults, take 3 capsules (450 mg of the active ingredient) at a time, once a day, everyday. However, if you need to take other antituberculosis medicines concomitantly, you may be instructed to take the medicine 2 days a week. Take the medicine before breakfast in principle. The dosage may be adjusted according to the age or symptoms. Strictly follow the instructions.
For nontuberculous mycobacteriosis including MAC: In general, for adults, take 3 capsules (450 mg of the active ingredient) at a time, once a day, everyday. Take the medicine before breakfast in principle. The dosage may be adjusted according to the age, symptoms or weight, however, the maximum daily dose is 4 capsules (600 mg). Strictly follow the instructions.
For Hansen's disease: In general, for adults, take 4 capsules (600 mg of the active ingredient) at a time once to twice a month, or take 3 capsules (450 mg of the active ingredient) at a time, once a day, every day. Take the medicine before breakfast in principle. The dosage may be adjusted according to the age or symptoms. Strictly follow the instructions.
If you miss a dose, take the missed dose as soon as possible. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue your regular dosing schedule. You should never take two doses at one time.
If you accidentally take more than your prescribed dose, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
Do not stop taking the medicine unless your doctor instructs you to do so.

Cautions

If you have previously experienced any allergic reactions (itch, rash etc.) to any medicines or foods.
If you had once stopped taking the medicine.
If you have: biliary atresia, liver disorder, adrenal disorder, or thyroid disorder.
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
If you are taking any other medicinal products. (Some medicines may interact to enhance or diminish medicinal effects. Beware of over-the-counter medicines and dietary supplements as well as other prescription medicines.)
Colors of urine, stool, saliva, sputum, sweat or tear may change to orange-red. Also, soft contact lens may become discolored.
Since liver disorder may occur, liver function test should be performed regularly. Keep test schedules under the instruction.
Keep out of the reach of children. Store away from direct sunlight, heat and moisture.
Discard the remainder. Do not store them. If you do not know how to discard the remainder, ask your pharmacist or medical institution. Do not give the medicine to anyone else.

Contraindication
-
The most commonly reported adverse reactions include gastrointestinal disorder (loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, gastric pain, diarrhea, stomach discomfort, etc.), and liver disorder. If any of these symptoms occur, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
The symptoms described below are rarely seen as initial symptoms of the adverse reactions indicated in brackets. If any of these symptoms occur, stop taking this medicine and see your doctor immediately.
loss of appetite, general malaise, yellowing of the skin/white of eyes [serious liver disorder including fulminant hepatitis]
chills, facial flushing, breathing difficulty [shock, anaphylaxis]
fever, general malaise, decreased urine output, swelling of limbs and face [renal failure, interstitial nephritis, nephrotic syndrome]
general malaise, palpitation, dizziness [hemolytic anemia]
fever, sore throat, muscle pain, bleeding tendency (nasal bleeding, gums bleeding, subcutaneous bleeding, etc.) [agranulocytosis, thrombocytopenia]
abdominal pain, frequent diarrhea, nausea [serious colitis associated with melaena such as pseudomembranous colitis]
fever, erythema, blister, erosion [toxic epidermal necrolysis, oculomucocutaneous syndrome, lichen planus-like eruption, pemphigus eruption, pemphigoid rash, erythroderma (exfoliative dermatitis)]
fever, dry cough, breathing difficulty [interstitial pneumonia]
The above symptoms do not describe all the adverse reactions to this medicine. Consult with your doctor or pharmacist if you notice any symptoms of concern other than those listed above.
