  • Description
      This medicine lowers pulse rate, decreases blood pressure and reduces strain on the heart to prevent angina attacks by blocking beta-receptors in the heart.
      It is usually used to treat essential hypertension (mild to moderate), angina pectoris and tachyarrhythmia.
  • Effect/Efficacy
      This medicine lowers pulse rate, decreases blood pressure and reduces strain on the heart to prevent angina attacks by blocking beta-receptors in the heart.
      It is usually used to treat essential hypertension (mild to moderate), angina pectoris and tachyarrhythmia.
  • Usage/Dosage
      For essential hypertension (mild to moderate): In general, for adults, take 1 to 2 tablets (20 to 40 mg of the active ingredient) at a time, 3 times a day. If the effect is insufficient, the dosage may be increased up to 12 tablets (240 mg) a day.
      For angina pectoris, tachyarrhythmia: In general, for adults, take 3 to 6 tablets (60 to 120 mg of the active ingredient) a day, in 2 to 3 divided doses.
      In any case, the dosage may be adjusted according to your disease, age or symptoms. Strictly follow the instructions.
      If you miss a dose, take the missed dose when you remember. However, if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and follow your regular dosing schedule. You should never take two doses at one time.
      If you accidentally take more than your prescribed dose, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
      Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor instructs you to do so.
  • Cautions
      The following patients may need to be careful when using this medicine.
      Be sure to tell your doctor and pharmacist.

      If you have previously experienced any allergic reactions (itch, rash, etc.) to any medicines or foods.
      If you have diabetic ketoacidosis, metabolic acidosis, sinus bradycardia, atrioventricular block, sinoatrial block, sick sinus syndrome, cardiogenic shock, right heart failure due to pulmonary hypertension, congestive heart failure, hypotension, peripheral circulatory disorder (gangrene, etc.), untreated pheochromocytoma or asthma.
      If you are going to undergo surgery.
      If you are pregnant, possibly pregnant or breastfeeding.
      If you are taking any other medicinal products. (Some medicines may interact to enhance or diminish medicinal effects. Beware of over-the-counter medicines and dietary supplements as well as other prescription medicines.)
  • Contraindication
      The most commonly reported adverse reactions include vision disorder (foggy vision, etc.), decreased lacrimal secretion, conjunctivitis, rash, itch, photosensitivity, dizziness/light headedness, shortness of breath, nausea/vomiting and diarrhea. If any of these symptoms occur, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.

      The symptoms described below are rarely seen as initial symptoms of the adverse reactions indicated in brackets. If any of these symptoms occur, stop taking this medicine and see your doctor immediately.

      respiratory distress, flush, numbness of limbs[cardiogenic shock]
      respiratory distress, general edema, dry cough [congestive heart failure, atrioventricular block, slow pulse, sinus node dysfunction]
      breathing difficulty, wheezing (whistling sound)[induction/aggravation of asthma symptoms]
      general malaise, loss of appetite, yellow discoloration of the skin and the white of eyes[liver dysfunction, jaundice]

      The above symptoms do not describe all the adverse reactions to this medicine. Consult with your doctor or pharmacist if you notice any symptoms of concern other than those listed above.
