  • Description
      This medicine blocks the calcium channel to suppress inflow of calcium into cells, leading to expansion of blood vessels and decrease in blood pressure. It also expands blood vessels that carry oxygen and nutrition to the heart to improve and prevent chest pain.
      It is usually used to treat hypertension, renal parenchymal hypertension, renovascular hypertension, angina pectoris or variant angina pectoris.
  • Effect/Efficacy
      This medicine blocks the calcium channel to suppress inflow of calcium into cells, leading to expansion of blood vessels and decrease in blood pressure. It also expands blood vessels that carry oxygen and nutrition to the heart to improve and prevent chest pain.
      It is usually used to treat hypertension, renal parenchymal hypertension, renovascular hypertension, angina pectoris or variant angina pectoris.
  • Usage/Dosage
      ○ General dosage is as follows.
        ● For hypertension:
          In general, for adults, take 2 to 4 tablets (20 to 40 mg of the active ingredient) at a time, once a day. However, start with 1 to 2 tablets (10 to 20 mg) a day, and the dosage may be then gradually increased as necessary. In case of uncontrolled with 4 tablets (40 mg) once a day, the dosage may be increased up to 4 tablets (40 mg) at a time, twice a day.
        ● For renal parenchymal hypertension, renovascular hypertension:
          In general, for adults, take 2 to 4 tablets (20 to 40 mg of the active ingredient) at a time, once a day. However, start with 1 to 2 tablets (10 to 20 mg) a day, and the dosage may be then increased as necessary.
        ● For angina pectoris, variant angina pectoris:
          In general, for adults, take 4 tablets (40 mg of the active ingredient) at a time, once a day. The dosage may be adjusted according to the symptoms. However, the maximum daily dose is 6 tablets (60 mg).
        ● This medicine contains 20 mg of the active ingredient in a tablet. In any case, strictly follow the instructions.
      ○ This tablet is a sustained release tablet. Do not chew.
      ○ If you miss a dose, take the missed dose as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and follow your regular dosing schedule. You should never take two doses at one time.
      ○ If you accidentally take more than your prescribed dose, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
      ○ Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor instructs you to do so.
  • Contraindication
      ● The most commonly reported adverse reactions are following symptoms. If any of these symptoms occur, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
        -  jaundice, flushing of the face, sensation of heat, hot flash, flushing, palpitation, decreased blood pressure, orthostatic hypotension, edema (in the lower limbs and face), chest pain, headache, dizziness, malaise, nausea/vomiting, constipation, upper abdominal pain, rash, itch, photosensitivity, purpura, angioedema, gingival hypertrophy, anemia, respiratory distress and gynecomastia

      ● The symptoms described below are rarely seen as initial symptoms of the adverse reactions indicated in brackets. If any of these symptoms occur, stop taking this medicine and see your doctor immediately.
        - generalized red rash, skin exfoliation, fever [erythroderma (exfoliative dermatitis)]
        - fever, sore throat, bleeding tendency [agranulocytosis, thrombocytopenia]
        - general malaise, loss of appetite, yellow discoloration of the skin and the white of eyes [liver dysfunction, jaundice]
        - decreased consciousness, impaired mind, decreased judgment [consciousness disorder]

      Consult with your doctor or pharmacist if you notice any symptoms of concern other than those listed above.
