  • Description
      This medicine affects the parasympathetic inner muscle of the eye, and eases the tensed eyes, dilates (enlarges) pupil or loosens focus adjustment.It is usually used to treat iritis (eye inflammation) or to improve focus adjustment. It is also used to examine eyeground, or refraction of the eye.
  • Effect/Efficacy
      This medicine acts on the muscle of parasympathetic innervation and eases the tension of the eye, or acts on the muscle of sympathetic innervation and contracts it in order to dilate the pupil, or in order to loosen the muscle of focus adjustment.
      It is usually used to treat inflammation of the eye such as iritis, or to improve focus adjustment of the eye. It is also used to examine eyeground or refraction of the eye.
  • Usage/Dosage
      For mydriasis: In general, apply 1 to 2 drops at a time, or apply 1 drop at a time, 2 times at intervals of 3 to 5 minutes.
      For accommodation paralysis: In general, apply 1 drop at a time, 2 to 3 times at intervals of 3 to 5 minutes.
      In any case, the dosage may be adjusted according to your symptoms. Strictly follow the instructions.
      If you are a child patient, you should especially follow your doctor's instructions.
      Before applying, wash your hands thoroughly with soap and running water. Pull down your lower eyelid so that the dropper tip does not touch eye or eyelashes and apply the medicine. After applying, keep your eyes closed for 1 to 5 minutes pressing the inner corner of the eye lightly. Wipe off any excess liquid with a clean gauze or tissue. If you need to apply other eye drops at the same time, wait more than 5 minutes.
      If you miss a dose, apply the missed dose as soon as possible. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue your regular dosing schedule. You should not apply two doses at one time.
      If you accidentally apply more than your prescribed dose, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
      Do not stop applying this medicine unless your doctor instructs you to do so.
  • Cautions
      If you have previously experienced any allergic reactions (itch, rash, etc.) to any medicines.
      If you have: glaucoma, predisposition of increased intraocular pressure such as narrow angle or shallow anterior chamber, hypertension, arteriosclerosis, heart disease, diabetes, or hyperthyroidism.
      If you wear contact lenses.
      If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
      If you are taking any other medicinal products. (Some medicines may interact to enhance or diminish medicinal effects. Beware of over-the-counter medicines and dietary supplements as well as other prescription medicines.)
      This medicine may cause sensitive to bright light or blurred vision. Do not operate dangerous machinery such as driving a car until these symptoms recover. If your eyes become more sensitive to bright light, wear sunglasses as necessary.
      Effects of this medicine may carry over after applying for the examination. If you continue having the pupil is larger than usual (right and left pupils are different-sized), blurred vision, sensitive to bright light than usual, headache/eye pain (without typical reason such as cold) on the next day, contact the person in charge of the examination or see your doctor immediately.
      Keep out of reach of children. Store away from direct sunlight and heat.
      Discard the remainder. Do not store them.
  • Contraindication
      The commonly reported adverse reactions include blepharitis (erosion of eyelids, redden/swollen eyelids), eyelid dermatitis, itch, rash, hives, conjunctivitis (bloodshot/swollen eyes, eye mucus), corneal epithelial disorder (eye pain, focus disorder, foreign body sensation in eyes), increased intraocular pressure (eye pain, focus disorder, headache), dry mouth, nausea/vomiting, flush face (red face), tachycardia, increased blood pressure, and headache. If any of these symptoms occur, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
      The symptoms described below are rarely seen as initial symptoms of the adverse reactions indicated in brackets. If any of these symptoms occur, stop taking this medicine and see your doctor immediately.
