Description

This medicine inhibits angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) and suppresses the production of angiotensin II (endogenous hypertensive substance) which consequently decreases blood pressure.
It also shows improvement effect in diabetic nephropathy by inhibiting angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) activity in the kidney. It is usually used to treat hypertension, renal parenchymal hypertension and diabetic nephropathy accompanied by type 1 diabetes mellitus.

Usage/Dosage

Hypertension and renal parenchymal hypertension : In general, for adults, take 2 to 4 tablets (5 to 10 mg of the active ingredient) at a time, once a day. The dosage may be adjusted according to your diseases, age or symptoms. For hypertension accompanied by severe hypertension or renal disorder, the initial dose may be started with 1 tablet (2.5 mg) at a time.
Diabetic nephropathy accompanied by type 1 diabetes mellitus : In general, for adults, take 2 tablets (5mg of the active ingredient) at a time, once a day. However, for patients with serious renal disorder, the initial dose may be started with 1 tablet (2.5 mg) at a time. In any case, strictly follow the instructions.
If you miss a dose, take the missed dose as soon as possible. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue your regular dosing schedule. You should never take two doses at one time.
If you accidentally take more than your prescribed dose, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor instructs you to do so.

Cautions

If you have previously experienced any allergic reactions (itch, rash, etc.) to any medicines or foods.
If you have a history of angioedema.
If you are receiving blood purification therapy with extracorporeal circulation such as hemodialysis.
If you are pregnant, possibly pregnant or breastfeeding.
If you are taking any other medicinal products. (Some medicines may interact to enhance or diminish medicinal effects. Beware of over-the-counter medicines and dietary supplements as well as other prescription medicines.)
Antihypertensive action may cause dizziness or light headedness. Pay attention when performing dangerous operations such as
working at heights of driving a car.
Keep out of the reach of children. Store away from direct sunlight, heat and moisture.
Discard the remainder. Do not store them.

Contraindication
-
The most commonly reported adverse reactions include cough, hypotension, dizziness, light headedness, headache, uncomfortable feeling in throat and rash. If any of these symptoms occur, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
The symptoms described below are rarely seen as initial symptoms of the adverse reactions indicated in brackets. If any of these symptoms occur, stop taking this medicine and see your doctor immediately.
respiratory distress, swelling of face/tongue/throat, hives[angioedema]
nose bleeding, gum bleeding, purpura (bruise in limbs)[thrombocytopenia]
decreased urine output, edema, dullness[acute renal failure, worsening of renal dysfunction]
numbness of limbs/lips, muscular weakness, paralysis of limbs[hyperkalemia]
fever, extensive skin redness, bloodshot eyes or lip erosion[erythroderma (exfoliative dermatitis), mucocutaneous ocular syndrome, pemphigus-like symptoms]
