  • Description
      This medicine blocks the receptor in the brain and suppresses the action of dopamine which transmits the excitatory stimulation on nerves to improve the symptoms of excitement/aggression.
      It is usually used to improve aggressive behavior, psychiatric excitation, wandering behavior and delirium accompanied with cerebral infarction sequelae and treat idiopathic dyskinesia and dyskinesia accompanied with parkinsonism.

      white to faintly yellowish white tablet, diameter: approx. 6.1 mm, thickness: approx. 3.0 mm
  • Effect/Efficacy
      This medicine blocks the receptor in the brain and suppresses the action of dopamine which transmits the excitatory stimulation on nerves to improve the symptoms of excitement/aggression.
      It is usually used to improve aggressive behavior, psychiatric excitation, wandering behavior and delirium accompanied with cerebral infarction sequelae and treat idiopathic dyskinesia and dyskinesia accompanied with parkinsonism.
  • Usage/Dosage
      In general, for adults, take 1 to 2 tablets (25 to 50 mg of tiapride) at a time, 3 times a day. The dosage may be adjusted according to age and symptoms of the patient. For dyskinesia accompanied with parkinsonism, the initial dosage is recommended to be started with 1 tablet (25 mg) at a time, once a day.
      Srictly follow the instructions.
      If you miss a dose, take a dose as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and follow your regular dosing schedule. You should never take two doses at one time.
      If you accidentally take more than your prescribed dose, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
      Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor instructs you to do so.
  • Cautions
      If you have previously experienced any allergic reactions (itch, rash, etc.) to any medicines.
      If you have pituitary tumor (prolactinoma).
      If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
      If you are taking any other medicinal products. (Some medicines may interact to enhance or diminish medicinal effects. Beware of over-the-counter medicines and dietary supplements as well as other prescription medicines.)
      This medicine may cause sleepiness, dizziness/lightheadedness. Avoid operating in potentially hazardous activities such as driving a car.
      Intake of alcohol may enhance the effect of this medicine. Refrain from drinking alcohol while taking this medicine.
      Keep out of the reach of children. Store away from direct sunlight, heat and moisture.
      Discard the remainder. Do not store them.
  • Contraindication
      The most commonly reported adverse reactions include sleepiness, dizziness/lightheadedness, dry mouth, insomnia, tremor, parkinsonian syndrome (tremoring limbs, walking disorder, handwriting disorder, etc.), drooling (overflowing saliva from the mouth), rash and itch. If any of these symptoms occur, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
      The symptoms described below are rarely seen as initial symptoms of the adverse reactions indicated in brackets. If any of these symptoms occur, stop taking this medicine and see your doctor immediately.
      muscle stiffness, aphagia, tachycardia [malignant syndrome]
      complete loss of consciousness [coma]
      sudden onset of muscle contraction [convulsion]
      chest pain, palpitation, dizziness [long QT, ventricular tachycardia]
