  • Description
      This medicine decreases blood pressure with angiotensin II-receptor antagonistic activity. It also reduces the deterioration of the renal function by reducing proteinurina to protect the kidneys.
      It is usually used in the treatment of hypertension, and diabetic nephropathy in the type 2 diabetes mellitus accompanied by hypertension and proteinuria.

  • Effect/Efficacy
      This medicine decreases blood pressure with angiotensin II-receptor antagonistic activity. It also reduces the deterioration of the renal function by reducing proteinurina to protect the kidneys.
      It is usually used in the treatment of hypertension, and diabetic nephropathy in the type 2 diabetes mellitus accompanied by hypertension and proteinuria.
  • Usage/Dosage
      For hypertension: In general, for adults, take 25 to 50 mg of the active ingredient at a time, once daily. The dosage may be adjusted according to the age or symptoms, or may be increased up to 1 tablet (100 mg) daily.
      This preparation contains 100 mg of the active ingredient in a tablet. Strictly follow the instructions.
      For diabetic nephropathy*: In general, for adults, take 50 mg of the active ingredient at a time, once daily. The dosage may be increased up to 1 tablet (100 mg) daily according to the blood pressure level. If you have the potential to develop excessive hypotension, the initial dose is started at 25 mg. This preparation contains 100 mg of the active ingredient in a tablet. Strictly follow the instructions.
      If you miss a dose, take the missed dose as soon as possible. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue your regular dosing schedule. You should never take two doses at one time.
      If you accidentally take more than your prescribed dose, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
      Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor instructs you to do so.
      *: diabetic nephropathy in the type 2 diabetes mellitus accompanied by hypertension and proteinuria.
  • Cautions
      If you have previously experienced any allergic reactions (itch, rash, etc.) to any medicines.
      If you have a history of hepatic or renal disorder, or cerebrovascular disorder (cerebral stroke etc.).
      If you are pregnant, possibly pregnant or breastfeeding.
      If you are taking any other medicinal products. (Some medicines may interact to enhance or diminish medicinal effects. Beware of over-the-counter medicines and dietary supplements as well as other prescription medicines.)
      Dizziness and light-headedness may occur due to an excessive decrease in blood pressure. Therefore, be aware of driving a car, working at heights, or operating dangerous machinery.
      Keep out of the reach of children. Store away from direct sunlight, heat and moisture.
      Discard the remainder. Do not store them.
  • Contraindication
      The most commonly reported adverse reactions include headache, dizziness, vomiting, nausea, hot flush, hypotension, asthenia and fatigue. If any of these symptoms occur, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
      The symptoms described below are rarely seen as initial symptoms of the adverse reactions indicated in brackets. If any of these symptoms occur, stop taking this medicine and see your doctor immediately.
      urticaria, breathing difficulty, edema [anaphylaxis]
      swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat [angioedema]
      decreased urine output, generalized edema [renal failure]
      cold sweat, nausea, loss of consciousness [shock, faint, unconsciousness]
      muscle pain, lassitude, reddish brown urine [rhabdomyolysis]
      The above symptoms do not describe all the adverse reactions to this medicine. Consult with your doctor or pharmacist if you notice any symptoms of concern other than those listed above.
