Effect/Efficacy

This medicine blocks β-receptor to decrease blood pressure and lowers heart rate to prevent anginal attacks and suppress tachyarrhythmia.
It is usually used to treat essential hypertension (mild to moderate), angina, operative period of pheochromocytoma, to prevent premature beat, atrial fibrillation with rapid ventricular response and to suppress migraine attack.

Usage/Dosage

Essential hypertension (mild to moderate) : In general, for adults, initially take 1 to 2 tablets (10 to 20mg of the active ingredient) at a time, 3 times a day. The dosage may be gradually increased up to 12 tablets (120mg) a day, if the effect is insufficient. The dosage may be adjusted according to age and symptoms of the patient.
Angina, operative period of pheochromocytoma: In general, for adults, initially take 1 tablet (10mg of the active ingredient) at a time, 3 times a day. The dosage may be gradually increased to 6 tablets (60mg) or 9 tablets (90mg) a day, if the effect is insufficient. The dosage may be adjusted according to disease, age and symptoms of the patient.
Prevention of premature beat, atrial fibrillation with rapid ventricular response: In general, for adults, initially take 1 tablet (10mg of the active ingredient) at a time, 3 times a day. The dosage may be gradually increased to 6 tablets (60mg) or 9 tablets (90mg) a day, if the effect is insufficient. The dosage may be adjusted according to age and symptoms of the patient.
In general, for children, take 0.5 to 2mg/kg of the active ingredient a day, in 3 to 4 divided doses. The dosage may be adjusted according to disease, age and symptoms of the patient. The dosage may be increased to 4mg/kg a day, if the effect is insufficient. DO NOT exceed the daily maximum dosage, 9 tablets (90mg).
Prophylaxis of migraine attack: In general, for adults, initially take 20 to 30mg of the active ingredient a day, in 2 to 3 divided doses. The dosage may be increased up to 6 tablets (60mg) a day, if the effect is insufficient.
This preparation contains 10mg of the active ingredient in a tablets. Strictly follow the instructions in any case.
If you miss a dose, take a dose as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and follow your regular dosing schedule. You should never take two doses at one time.
If you accidentally take more than your prescribed dose, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor instructs you to do so.

Cautions

If you have previously experienced any allergic reactions (itch, rash, etc.) to any medicines.
If you have bronchial asthma, bronchospasm, diabetic ketoacidosis, metabolic acidosis, bradycardia, atrioventricular/sinoatrial block, sick sinus syndrome, cardiogenic shock, right-sided heart failure due to pulmonary hypertension, congestive heart failure, hypotension, peripheral circulatory disturbance or untreated pheochromocytoma or variant angina.
If you are in fasting state.
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
If you are taking any other medicinal products. (Some medicines may interact to enhance or diminish medicinal effects. Beware of over-the-counter medicines and dietary supplements as well as other prescription medicines.)

This medicine may cause dizziness/lightheadedness. Be aware of operating in potentially hazardous activities such as driving a car.
Intake of alcohol may enhance or attenuate the effect of this medicine. Refrain from drinking alcohol while taking the medicine.
