      This medicine suppresses proliferation of fungi (a type of mold) and shows antifungal effect by blocking actions of enzymes required for synthesis of the components of fungal cell membrane.
      It is usually used to treat fungemia, mycosis of respiratory tract, mycosis of gastrointestinal tract, mycosis of urinary tract and fungal meningitis due to Candida or Cryptococcus, and vaginitis and vulvovaginitis caused by Candida, or to prevent deep mycosis in patients undergoing hematopoietic stem cell transplantation.
  • Effect/Efficacy
      This medicine suppresses proliferation of fungi (a type of mold) and shows antifungal effect by blocking actions of enzymes required for synthesis of the components of fungal cell membrane.
      It is usually used to treat fungemia, mycosis of respiratory tract, mycosis of gastrointestinal tract, mycosis of urinary tract and fungal meningitis due to Candida or Cryptococcus, and vaginitis and vulvovaginitis caused by Candida, or to prevent deep mycosis in patients undergoing hematopoietic stem cell transplantation.
  • Usage/Dosage
      [Adults]
      For candidiasis: In general, take 50 to 100 mg of the active ingredient at a time, once a day.
      For cryptococcosis: In general, take 50 to 200 mg of the active ingredient at a time, once a day. For severe or refractory mycosis, the dosage may be increased up to 400 mg a day.
      For prevention of deep mycosis in patients undergoing hematopoietic stem cell transplantation: In general, take 400 mg of the active ingredient at a time, once a day.
      For vaginitis and vulvovaginitis caused by Candida: In general, take 150 mg of the active ingredient at a time, once a day.
      [Children]
      For candidiasis: In general, take 3 mg of the active ingredient per kilogram of body weight at a time, once a day.
      For cryptococcosis: In general, take 3 to 6 mg of the active ingredient per kilogram of body weight at a time, once a day. For severe or refractory mycosis, the dosage may be increased up to 12 mg per kilogram of body weight a day.
      For prevention of deep mycosis in patients undergoing hematopoietic stem cell transplantation: In general, take 12 mg of the active ingredient per kilogram of body weight at a time, once a day. The dosage may be adjusted according to the condition.
      The maximum daily dose is 400 mg.
      [Newborns]
      For newborns up to 14 days old, give the same dose of the active ingredient as children every 72 hours.
      For newborns 15 days old or over, give the same dose of the active ingredient as children every 48 hours.
      This medicine contains 100 mg of the active ingredients in a capsule. Strictly follow the instructions.
      If you miss a dose, take the missed dose as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose. You should never take two doses at one time.
      If you accidentally take more than your prescribed dose, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
      Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor instructs you to do so.
  • Cautions
      Before using this medicine, be sure to tell your doctor and pharmacist
      If you have previously experienced any allergic reactions (itch, rash, etc.) to any medicines.
      If you are pregnant, breastfeeding or possibly pregnant.
      If you are taking any other medicinal products. (Some medicines may interact to enhance or diminish medicinal effects. Beware of over-the-counter medicines and dietary supplements as well as other prescription medicines.)
  • Contraindication
      The most commonly reported adverse reactions include rash, nausea, hiccup, loss of appetite, diarrhea, stomach discomfort, abdominal pain, headache, stiffness of fingers, hypouresis, edema, fever and malaise. If any of these symptoms occur, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
      The symptoms described below are rarely seen as initial symptoms of the adverse reactions indicated in brackets. If any of these symptoms occur, stop taking this medicine and see your doctor immediately.
      swelling of eyelid/lips/tongue, itch, dizziness [shock, anaphylaxis]
      fever, redness and swelling of skin/mucosa with rash or blisters, conjunctival hyperemia [toxic epidermal necrolysis, mucocutaneous ocular syndrome]
      fever, anemic symptoms, bleeding tendency [blood disorder]
      decreased urine output, edema, headache [acute renal failure]
      general malaise, loss of appetite, yellow discoloration of the skin and the white of eyes [liver disorder]
      The above symptoms do not describe all the adverse reactions to this medicine. Consult with your doctor or pharmacist if you notice any symptoms of concern other than those listed above.
