  • Description
      This medicine suppresses activity of estrogen (female hormone) against breast cancer cells, and consequently inhibits the growth of cancer cells.
      It is usually used in the treatment of breast cancer.

  • Effect/Efficacy
      This medicine suppresses activity of estrogen (female hormone) against breast cancer cells, and consequently inhibits the growth of cancer cells.

  • Usage/Dosage
      In general, for adults, take 1 tablet (40 mg of toremifene) at a time, once daily.
      If you have already received drug treatment or radiation therapy, take 3 tablets (120 mg of toremifene) at a time, once daily. The dosage may be adjusted according to the symptoms. Strictly follow the instructions.
      If you miss a dose, take a dose as soon as you remember. You should never take two doses at one time.
      If you accidentally take more than your prescribed dose, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
      Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor instructs you to do so.
  • Cautions
      If you have previously experienced any allergic reactions (itch, rash, etc.) to any medicines.
      If you have: myelosuppression, hypokalemia, arrhythmia such as bradycardia or cardiac disease which is prone to develop arrhythmia such as myocardial ischemia.
      If you have/had QT prolongation on electrocardiogram.
      If you are taking antiarrhythmic agent (quinidine, procainamide, amiodarone, sotalol, etc.).
      If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
      If you are taking any other medicinal products. (Some medicines may interact to enhance or diminish medicinal effects. Beware of over-the-counter medicines and dietary supplements as well as other prescription medicines.)

      If you are patient in initial phase of menopause, receive an explanation for effects on pregnancy, and use birth control other than hormone preparation (pill). If you notice getting pregnant or are possible pregnant, stop taking this medicine and consult with your doctor.

      Keep out of the reach of children. Store away from heat, moisture and light.
      Discard the remainder. Do not store them. Ask the pharmacist how to discard them.
  • Contraindication
      The most commonly reported adverse reactions include loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, rash, itch and visual disorder. If any of these symptoms occur, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
      The symptoms described below are rarely seen as initial symptoms of the adverse reactions indicated in brackets. If any of these symptoms occur, stop taking this medicine and see your doctor immediately.
      local pain, tenderness, erythema [thromboembolism, phlebitis]
      loss of appetite, general malaise, yellowing in skin and white of eyes [hepatic dysfunction, jaundice]
      genital bleeding, menstrual abnormality (hypermenorrhea, pain in lower abdomen or lower back) [uterine myoma]
      The above symptoms do not describe all the adverse reactions to this medicine. Consult with your doctor or pharmacist if you notice any symptoms of concern other than those listed above.
