Effect/Efficacy

This medicine is new quinolone antibiotic agent. It inhibits the synthesis of bacterial DNA to show bactericidal antibacterial effects.
It is usually used to treat various infections such as skin/respiratory/urinary/otolaryngologic/ophthalmologic infections.

Usage/Dosage

Infections except anthrax: In general, for adults, take 100 to 200mg of ciprofloxacin at a time, 2 to 3 times a day. The dosage may be adjusted according to kinds of infection and symptoms of the patient.
Anthrax: In general, for adults, take 2 tablets (400mg of ciprofloxacin) at a time, 2 times a day.
This preparation contains 200mg of ciprofloxacin in a tablet. Strictly follow the instructions in any case.
If you miss a dose, take a dose as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and follow your regular dosing schedule. You should never take two doses at one time.
If you accidentally take more than your prescribed dose, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor instructs you to do so.

Cautions

Before using this medicine, be sure to tell your doctor and pharmacist
If you have previously experienced any allergic reactions (itch, rash, etc.) to any medicines.
If you are pregnant, possibly pregnant or breastfeeding.
If you are taking any other medicinal products. (Some medicines may interact to enhance or diminish medicinal effects. Beware of over-the-counter medicines and dietary supplements as well as other prescription medicines.)

Be aware of taking this medicine with something such as milk including a large amount of calcium on an empty stomach. Because it may decrease absorption of this medicine and diminish the effect.
Keep out of the reach of children. Store away from light, heat and moisture.
Discard the remainder. Do not store them.

Contraindication

The most commonly reported adverse reactions include rash, photosensitivity, hives, itch, fever, flare (erythema nodosum), edema (periphery, blood vessel, face, throat), fixed drug eruption, serum sickness-like reaction (hives, fever, joint pain), anemia and petechial hemorrhage. If any of these symptoms occur, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
The symptoms described below are rarely seen as initial symptoms of the adverse reactions indicated in brackets. If any of these symptoms occur, stop taking this medicine and see your doctor immediately.
respiratory distress, edema, hives [shock, anaphylactic reaction]
abdominal pain, frequent diarrhea, blood in stool [colitis]
muscular pain, weakness, reddish brown urine [rhabdomyolysis]
fever, cough, respiratory distress [interstitial pneumonia]
weakness, high craving for food, sweat [hypoglycemia]
