      This medicine is a new quinolone antimicrobial agent which inhibits bacterial DNA synthesis and exerts a bactericidal and bacteriolytic effect.
      It is usually used to treat wide range of infections including skin infections, respiratory infections, otological infections, urological infections, and ophthalmologic infections.

  • Effect/Efficacy
      This medicine is a new quinolone antimicrobial agent which inhibits bacterial DNA synthesis and exerts a bactericidal and bacteriolytic effect.
      It is usually used to treat wide range of infections including skin infections, respiratory infections, otological infections, urological infections, and ophthalmologic infections.
  • Usage/Dosage
      In general, for adults, take a 1 to 2 tablets (100 to 200 mg of ciprofloxacin) at a time, 2 to 3 times a day. The dosage may be adjusted according to your type of infections or symptoms. For anthrax, take 4 tablets (400 mg) at a time, twice a day. Strictly follow the instruction.
      If you miss a dose, take the missed dose as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue your regular dosing schedule. You should never take two doses at one time.
      If you accidentally take more than your prescribed dose, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
      Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor instructs you to do so.
  • Cautions
      Before using this medicine, be sure to tell your doctor and pharmacist
      If you have previously experienced any allergic reactions (itch, rash, etc.) to any medicines.
      If you have renal disorder or myasthenia gravis.
      If you have convulsive diseases such as epilepsy, or have a history of them.
      If you are pregnant, possibly pregnant or breastfeeding.
      If you are taking any other medicinal products. (Some medicines may interact to enhance or diminish medicinal effects. Beware of over-the-counter medicines and dietary supplements as well as other prescription medicines.)

      Longtime exposure to strong direct sunlight during taking this medicine may cause severe sunburn (e.g. skiing, golf, fishing).
      Pay attention that taking this medicine with milk or other calcium-rich food/drink on an empty stomach may reduce absorption of the medicine and diminish the medicinal effect.

      Keep out of the reach of children. Store away from sunlight, heat and moisture.
      Discard the remainder. Do not store them.
  • Contraindication
      The most commonly reported adverse reactions include rash, gastric discomfort, diarrhea, nausea and loss of appetite. If any of these symptoms occur, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
      The symptoms described below are rarely seen as initial symptoms of the adverse reactions indicated in brackets. If any of these symptoms occur, stop taking this medicine and see your doctor immediately.
      respiratory distress, facial pallor, cold sweat [shock, anaphylaxis]
      abdominal pain, frequent diarrhea, bloody stool [colitis]
      muscle pain in limbs, lassitude, reddish brown urine [rhabdomyolysis]
      fever, cough, respiratory distress [interstitial pneumonia]
      fever, eye/mouth mucosal erosion [toxic epidermal necrolysis, muco-cutaneo-ocular syndrome, erythema multiforme, acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis]
      The above symptoms do not describe all the adverse reactions to this medicine. Consult with your doctor or pharmacist if you notice any symptoms of concern other than those listed above.
