Description

This medicine is a macrolide antibiotic and shows antibacterial effects by inhibiting protein synthesis of bacteria.
It is usually used for eradication of Helicobacter pylori infection in gastric ulcer, duodenal ulcer, gastric MALT lymphoma, idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura, or after endoscopic treatment for early-stage gastric cancer, and Helicobacter pylori-associated gastritis.

Effect/Efficacy

This medicine is a macrolide antibiotic and shows antibacterial effects by inhibiting protein synthesis of bacteria.
It is usually used for eradication of Helicobacter pylori infection in gastric ulcer, duodenal ulcer, gastric MALT lymphoma, idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura, or after endoscopic treatment for early-stage gastric cancer, and Helicobacter pylori-associated gastritis.

Usage/Dosage

In general, for adults, take 1 tablet (200 mg [titer] of the active ingredient) at a time, concomitantly with 750 mg (titer) of amoxicillin hydrate and proton pump inhibitor (any of the following medicines: 30 mg of lansoprazole at a time, 20 mg of omeprazole at a time, 10 mg of rabeprazole sodium at a time, 20 mg of esomeprazole at a time or 20 mg of vonoprazan at a time), twice a day for 7 days. The dosage may be increased according to the symptoms. However, the maximum daily dose is 2 tablets (400 mg [titer]) at a time, twice a day. Strictly follow the instructions.
If you miss a dose, take the missed dose as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose. You should never take two doses at one time.
If you accidentally take more than your prescribed dose, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor instructs you to do so.

Cautions

If you have previously experienced any allergic reactions (itch, rash, etc.) to any medicines.
If you have liver or renal dysfunction.
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
If you are taking any other medicinal products. (Some medicines may interact to enhance or diminish medicinal effects. Beware of over-the-counter medicines and dietary supplements as well as other prescription medicines.)
Keep out of the reach of children. Store away from direct sunlight, heat and moisture.
Discard the remainder. Do not store them.

Contraindication

The most commonly reported adverse reactions include rash, itch, diarrhea, loose stool or taste abnormality. If any of these symptoms occur, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
The symptoms described below are rarely seen as initial symptoms of the adverse reactions indicated in brackets. If any of these symptoms occur, stop taking this medicine and see your doctor immediately.
respiratory distress, convulsion, redness [shock, anaphylaxis]
chest pain, palpitation, dizziness [QT prolongation, ventricular tachycardia, ventricular fibrillation]
general malaise, loss of appetite, yellow discoloration of the skin and the white of eyes [fulminant hepatitis, liver dysfunction, jaundice, liver failure]
bleeding tendency, anemic symptoms, fever [decreased platelets, pancytopenia, hemolytic anemia, decreased leukocytes, agranulocytosis]
fever, redness and swelling of the skin/mucosa with rash or blister, conjunctival hyparemia [toxic epidermal necrolysis, mucocutaneous ocular syndrome, erythema multiforme]
