Description

This medicine is macrolide antibiotics, inhibits protein synthesis of bacteria to suppress bacterial growth, and shows antibacterial action.
It is usually used in the treatment of wide-range infections such as respiratory infections, otorhinologic infections and skin infections, or nontuberculous mycobacteriosis including Mycobacterium avium complex (MAC) disease.

Effect/Efficacy

This medicine is macrolide antibiotics, inhibits protein synthesis of bacteria to suppress bacterial growth, and shows antibacterial action.
It is usually used in the treatment of wide-range infections such as respiratory infections, otorhinologic infections and skin infections, or nontuberculous mycobacteriosis including Mycobacterium avium complex (MAC) disease.

Usage/Dosage

For common infections: In general, for adults, take 1 tablet (200 mg [titer] of the active ingredient) at a time, twice daily.
For nontuberculous mycobacterial infections: In general, for adults, take 2 tablets (400 mg [titer] of the active ingredient) at a time, twice daily.
In any case, the dosage may be adjusted according to the diseases, age or symptoms. Strictly follow the instructions of your doctor and pharmacist.
If you miss a dose, take the missed dose as soon as possible when you remember that you missed a dose. However, if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue your regular dosing schedule. You should never take two doses at one time.
If you accidentally take more than your prescribed dose, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor instructs you to do so.

Cautions

If you have previously experienced any allergic reactions (itch, rash, etc.) to any medicines.
If you have: hepatic disorder, renal disorder, cardiac disease or hypokalemia.
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
If you are taking any other medicinal products. (Some medicines may interact to enhance or diminish medicinal effects. Beware of over-the-counter medicines and dietary supplements as well as other prescription medicines.)
Keep the medicine out of the reach of children. Store it away from direct sunlight, heat and moisture.
Discard the remainder. Do not store them.

Contraindication

The most commonly reported adverse reactions include rash, hallucination, disorientation (unable to recognize time, place or name), impaired consciousness, delirium (conscious disorder along with hallucination or illusion), mania (high tension, tendency to be excited, become active), ear ringing, diminished hearing, olfactory disorder, oral erosion, tooth discoloration, tremor (trembling of the limbs), numbness, candidiasis (rash, sore and itch in the external genitalia, stomatitis, difficulty in swallowing or eating), palpitation, muscular pain and hypoglycemia. If any of these symptoms occur, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
The symptoms described below are rarely seen as initial symptoms of the adverse reactions indicated in brackets. If any of these symptoms occur, stop taking this medicine and see your doctor immediately.
breathing difficulty, convulsion, redness [shock, anaphylaxis]
chest pain, palpitation, shortness of breath [QT prolongation, ventricular tachycardia (including Torsades de pointes), ventricular fibrillation]
general malaise, loss of appetite, yellowing in the skin or conjunctiva [fulminant hepatitis, hepatic dysfunction, jaundice, hepatic failure]
palpitation, shortness of breath, fever, sore throat [thrombocytopenia, pancytopenia, hemolytic anemia, leukocytopenia, agranulocytosis]
fever, mucosal, damage, (conjunctival congestion, lip erosion, sore throat), erythema [toxic epidermal necrolysis, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, erythema multiform]
