  • Description
      This medicine lowers blood pressure by reducing peripheral vascular resistance via antagonizing receptor of angiotensin II, an intrinsic substance which raises blood pressure by constricting blood vessels.
      It is usually used to treat hypertension.
  • Feature
      slightly red tablet, major axis 9.1 mm, minor axis 5.1 mm, thickness about 3.3 mm
  • Effect/Efficacy
      This medicine lowers blood pressure by reducing peripheral vascular resistance via antagonizing receptor of angiotensin II, an intrinsic substance which raises blood pressure by constricting blood vessels.
      It is usually used to treat hypertension.
  • Usage/Dosage
      For adults: In general, take 1 tablet (20 mg of the active ingredient) at a time, once a day. The dosage should be adjusted according to your age and symptoms, but 2 tablets (40 mg) once a day is the upper limit of dosage. Strictly follow the instructions.
      If you miss a dose, take the missed dose as soon as possible. However, let more than 8 hours elapse between doses. You should never take two doses at one time.
      If you accidentally take more than your prescribed dose, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
      Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor instructs you to do so.
  • Cautions
      If you have previously experienced any allergic reactions (itch, rash, etc.) to any medicines.
      If you have a high blood potassium level, renal disorder, liver disorder, or cerebrovascular disorder.
      If you are a preoperative patient, receiving hemodialysis, or under low-salt diet treatment.
      If you are pregnant, possibly pregnant or breastfeeding.
      If you are taking any other medicinal products. (Some medicines may interact to enhance or diminish medicinal effects. Beware of over-the-counter medicines and dietary supplements as well as other prescription medicines.)
      Dizziness and light-headedness may occur due to an excessive decrease in blood pressure. Therefore, be aware of working at heights or operating dangerous machinery such as driving a car.
      Keep out of the reach of children. Store away from direct sunlight, heat and moisture.
      Discard the remainder. Do not store them.
  • Contraindication
      The most commonly reported adverse reactions include rash, eczema, itching, dizziness, headache, and diarrhea. If any of these symptoms occur, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
      The symptoms described below are rarely seen as initial symptoms of the adverse reactions indicated in brackets. If any of these symptoms occur, stop taking this medicine and see your doctor immediately.
      facial/tongue/throat swelling, breathlessness [angioedema]
      feeling cold, vomiting, falling unconscious [shock, syncope, loss of consciousness]
      decreased urination output, swelling of face and hands/feet, fever [acute renal failure]
      numbness of hands/feet and lips, muscle weakness [hyperkalemia]
      The above symptoms do not describe all the adverse reactions to this medicine. Consult with your doctor or pharmacist if you notice any symptoms of concern other than those listed above.
